What is Overdraft Protection? And how do I enroll?
Life happens, and sometimes your balance doesn’t keep up. With Overdraft Protection, you can handle those “oops” moments like a pro. If an item tries to clear your checking account and the funds aren’t there, we’ll automatically transfer funds from your savings account. Sure, there’s a $2 fee each time, but it’s a small price to pay to avoid the hassle of returned items.
- Covers checks, debit card items, pre-authorized automatic debits, and more.
- $2 fee per transfer.
- Avoid return fees

Except as otherwise agreed in writing, if we exercise our right to use our discretion to pay such items the result in an insufficiency of funds in your account, we do not agree to pay them in the future and may discontinue coverage at any time without notice. If we pay these items or impose a fee that results in insufficient funds in your account, you agree to pay the insufficiency amount, including the fee assessed by us, in accordance with our standard overdraft services or any other service you may have authorized with us or, if you do not have such protections with us, in accordance with any overdraft payment policy we have, as applicable.
What is Early Pay?
Early Pay is a feature that allows you to receive your direct deposit funds up to two days earlier than your scheduled payday. Timing may vary depending on your employer or benefits provider.
Generally, funds are available on the day the payment file is received, which may be up to two days earlier than the scheduled payment date. Early availability of direct deposits is not guaranteed and may vary from deposit to deposit. Early availability is available for personal accounts only. Eligible direct deposits are limited to electronic direct deposits of items, such as your payroll, pension and government benefits, made through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) to your personal account. Other deposits or credits to your account, such as deposits of funds from person-to-person payment services, checks or mobile deposits, and other online transfers or electronic credits not eligible.
Will a checking account help build my credit?
A standard checking account does not directly build your credit since it doesn’t involve borrowing or repayments. However, responsible account management—such as avoiding overdrafts—can help you qualify for credit-building products like loans or credit cards.
